A.C. Episkopis
A.C. Episkopis is one of the two largest cooperatives in Episkopi that is active in the handling, marketing and export of horticultural products – fresh fruits such as peaches, cherries, apples, nectarines, pears, plums and kiwis. It handles approximately 15,000 tons of fruit and aims to expand its commercial activities and publicize the excellent quality of its products within and beyond borders. The objectives of the cooperative include the better organization of primary production, the improvement of the quality of the products produced by its members, the reduction of the production costs of the products, the creation of the conditions for the implementation of EU regulations and environmental protection.
ACE conducts with its own resources research programs which aim to apply innovative methodologies in the field of primary production in order to maintain high quality and reduce production costs. It implements an integrated management system with the requirements of AGRO 2-1 & 2-2 standards with scope for the production and marketing of peaches, nectarines, kiwis, cherries, plums, pears, apricots, apples and quinces. It has been certified with ISO 9001:2000 & ISO22000:2005.

The Agricultural Cooperative Producers Organization (ASEPOP) of Velventos DIMITRA with more than 170 producer-members, follows all the modern methods of cultivation, harvesting, standardization and distribution of fresh fruit, charts its own unique course in the sector, combining harmoniously tradition, taste and know-how.
With absolute respect for the consumer and the environment, DIMITRA Velventou continuously invests in new technologies and human resources.
The vision & goal of the Cooperative is the production and distribution of fresh fruit, of excellent quality, unique taste and maximum safety for the consumer at affordable prices.
The philosophy of the Cooperative is the continuous modernization of production methods, production technology, the setting of ever higher goals, the offering of excellent quality products to the markets.
The Agricultural Cooperative Producers’ Organization (ASEPOP) of Velventos DIMITRA “signs” the Greek, branded and quality fruits of Velventos only. The Agricultural Cooperative Producers Organization (ASEPOP) Velventos DIMITRA is certified for the production of peaches and nectarines according to GLOBALG.A.P. standards. and AGRO 2-1 & 2-2 of the Integrated Production Management System. The specific certifications guarantee healthy fruit without residues, fruit produced with processes that respect the environment and the consumer with full traceability.
The Cooperative has also been certified and applies the BS EN ISO 9001:2008 & BS EN ISO 22000:2005 systems.
ELGO-DIMITRA
The main object of ELGO-DIMITRA is the development and support of actions aimed at the modernization and development of the country’s agricultural sector, the improvement of production processes, the strengthening of competitiveness, the certification of quality agricultural products & food, the establishment and certification of correct agricultural practices and controls in the production-distribution chain of milk and meat in the country.
The individual sectors in which ELGO DIMITRA is active are:
- promoting innovation, conducting research, disseminating knowledge, technology and advisory services in all sectors of the agri-food chain,
- the provision of agricultural vocational education and training,
- the protection of origin and identity, the controls of the legal use of terms, symbols and indications in agricultural products and food in order to ensure their quality,
- the application of good practices in agriculture, and
- the thorough control of the chain of origin, production, quality and distribution for milk and meat in the country.
At the same time, the basic mission of the Organization is the scientific and technical support of the Ministry of Agricultural Development & Food in planning and supporting the implementation of its policy within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy and the Common Fisheries Policy, as well as in the formulation of positions on the issues considered in Council and the other competent bodies of the European Union.
